About ARTA VARTA
Hello, my name is Ievgeniia and I am the hands, mind and soul behind Arta Varta.
I am multicultural and multidisciplinary artist, who travels the world, enjoy creating and most of all - sharing my skills and inspiration with people around me.
I was born in Ukraine in times, when it was challenging to find a decent paper to drew or paint, but the joy of creation is not only about materials and inspiration, it is about resilience and willpower to bring to this world something that never existed in it before.
Since I was a child, I remember myself reaching for grandad tools and my my mom sewing kit. Scarce times taught me to find ways to use different materials that are easy to obtain but hard to use to archive desired results and that was a first investment in my artistic skills.
After graduating from university with masters degree in psychology, I moved with my spouse to the faraway, misty Scotland. I submerged into its savage beauty, rich history and cultural heritage that inspired me to start my own small brand of jewellery and alternative bridal accessories. Over my 12 years in Scotland I established my own business and truly started to build myself as an artist. Owning a creative business inevitably leads to obtaining a large variety of artistic skills and knowledge, starting from photography, retouching, modelling and ending in fields of graphic design and social media management. But the most important, it gives you the opportunity to participate and connect in community. I enjoyed collaborating with local and international artists, photographers and models and creating magical stories that continue living their own lives despite I changed my path and moved to the US in 2022.
Now I am living in vibrant California and building my career as an educator as I feel need to share my diverse skills and multicultural experience. I continue to participate in community bringing my knowledge, ethnical and cultural background to the workshops and igniting curiosity and courage to create.
Traveling is my main source of inspiration and I take any chance to see or experience something new, local park or another country. It led me to practice my art in form of journals as one of the main direction of my creative endeavours as this format allows to make collections of memories and document once experience. I use a variety of media for my works because as same as I enjoy teaching, I can't imagine myself without learning and exploring new techniques and materials. Learning something new is equal feeding your soul and we all need to practice it more to sustain our life in rapidly changing world.
I believe creativity doesn't have any borders, but learning the rules gives you a map that you can use to build your own universes with. And I am here to help you to read that map and lay first stepping stones of your artistic way.
